Mas de Cuba

We’ve had a great few last days! We got out of Havana and headed to the lush, green tobacco growing region of Vinales yesterday. Stopped along the way to tour the Eco community of las Terrazas.

We toured an old French coffee plantation, and had a delicious local and vegetarian lunch! Afterwards we had some time to swim in the lake! Once we got to Vinales we were able to tour a local small organic farm which produced food for the connected restaurant where we had dinner. We ate and enjoyed an incredible sunset behind the mogotes.

This morning we headed out for horseback riding, first time for a few of us. The landscape was stunning and we got to see growing rice, pineapple, corn, tobacco, and more!

We visited a botanical garden and went to a cave afterwards. We also got to try some fresh pressed sugar cane juice and are now enjoying the local market before we head back to Havana for a few days!
