Kiska Kosakowski is a Youth Advocate with a passion for the outdoors and international experiences. She took a gap year after high school to live and work in Spain and only regrets not going abroad sooner. During her time at the University of Colorado she spent a summer as a teacher in Honduras and went to Costa Rica to study for 6 months. She used her time stateside to pursue her environmentalist interests and worked at her university’s Environmental Center, focusing on recycling and zero waste events. After receiving a degree in International Affairs with a focus on Latin America she spent a summer doing the dirty work helping to minimize the waste impact of music festivals. She left sunny Colorado for the Pacific Northwest to serve in AmeriCorps and support bilingual education. She’s continued working in schools and in supporting youth in their pursuit of adventure and outdoor activities. In 2013 she coordinated and oversaw leadership development road trips for high school students in Oregon. Kiska is a lifelong learner, who is working to improve her Portuguese, rock climbing, snowboarding, and guitar skills every chance she gets.
