Krystal Illich

Hello! My name is Krystal. I graduated from Appalachian State University with my bachelor’s degree in Sustainable Development, Agroecology. I’m now obtaining my master’s in Environmental Science at UNC, Wilmington. I have spent the last few years working on a sustainable research farm in the Appalachian Mountains. My most recent endeavor entails working with a local indigenous tribe, here on the coast, and researching their soil quality and potential contaminants — we’re currently collaborating on paths for remediation. I am passionate about sustainable agriculture, food sovereignty, environmental justice, and soil science!
