A Changing of the Seasons

Checking in from Ithaca!

The time for “see you laters!” and “safe travels home!” arrived fast, as our 2024 Cornell session came to a bittersweet end. On Thursday, we celebrated our teams’ hard-work on their start-up challenge with a hike in Watkins Glen. We explored beautiful shale stone and waterfalls, enjoyed lunch surrounded by pine forests, and kept laughter going through all 800+ steps of the gorge trail!

Our last night ended with a reflection of the program in Cornell’s beautiful botanical garden. As we participated in appreciation activities and group reflections, students considered their newly discovered passions and newly developed friendships. Hugs and tears abound as we finished up our reflection.

Prizes for Sustainable Summer’s first annual photo context and games followed! Thank you for all the stunning and hilarious submissions -we can’t wait to keep the new tradition going. And most importantly, thank you to all the students for sharing your infectious energy and passion -what an incredible end to an amazing summer!
