Alvin Duong

Hi! My name is Alvin. I’m a biology and chemistry graduate from the University of Washington currently living in Madrid, Spain. For almost 4 years I’ve been working as a biology, math, and English language teacher. I’ve been involved in sustainability since high school and have continued my education in sustainable practices in local Spanish schools and programs as an educator and outdoor leader. One of my favorite things about environmentalism and sustainability is the combined use of technology with the field in order to effectively reduce food waste, greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting secondhand shopping to name a few. My favorite hobby is traveling (as shown by my plane tattoo and my magnet collection of almost 20 countries) and I really like to learn about other cultures (though it’s mostly about trying out new foods). When I’m not teaching, I like to go snowboarding and hike up trails with great views!
