Amazon Update: Day 2

Hi everyone!

We started our morning with a breakfast of fruit, eggs and bread along with a juice we had never tried before – tree tomato! We spent some time learning each other’s names with a quirky little activity right before our opening ceremony for the trip. The pictures are from the rooftop of our hostel this morning!

We then hopped on the bus with Fernando, our driver, and headed to Banos for a four hour ride. We stopped at a restaurant to try local food including tripe soup, a delicious aji sauce, and a colada drink made with oats. On the bus we saw views of the Andes, mountains and valleys, and looked over the city of Quito.

We made it to Banos around 4pm where we checked into our swanky hostel, La Chimenea. There we spent the afternoon creating our group contract with views of lush mountains on all sides and a racing waterfall in the background.
