Welcome to Yale

The sweaty, swampy weather in New Haven has not slowed this group of sustainability leaders down! After a hot move-in day, we jumped right into orientation and got ready for a jam packed first day.

What’s better than exploring Yale’s beautiful campus? Exploring Yale’s campus with new friends! Yesterday, students went on a scavenger hunt that challenged them to find hidden corners of Yale’s sprawling campus, do silly dances, and break out their best British accents to win their team points (shoutout to Morgan’s team for clinching the win). 

But wait – there’s more! Following a tasty lunch, students enjoyed a campus tour and an engaging workshop on carbon emissions and offsets. 

Today, students dove into a review of climate science and then got ready for the Great Energy Debate! Renewable energy? We’re big fans. Students explored various sources of energy, and debated each other on the best source. Later, we explored the New Haven Arts and Ideas Festival and Yale Art Gallery. Laughter filled nights have been spent in the expansive “Buttery” playing games and getting to know each other.
